But honestly I don't know in the end if it is going to be more efficient…. (In case you end up in Warsaw you can get a bus, couple years ago we went Kaunas-Warsaw-Kaunas it was fully booked). But be aware that it still can be some international restrictions. So connection flights might be a safe option).
