I will freely admit that I'm not a big fan of spiders, I'm not scared of them but they unsettle me a bit, I think I just don't like anything with that many eyes.
But I do appreciate how useful they are, both in nature and in agriculture where they stop huge amounts of crops being eaten by things like aphids.
The problem this article highlights isn't exclusive to spiders though I think, any species that are not big, pretty, cute, etc. are not on a lot of people's radar and don't get nearly the amount of protection that they deserve.
