Canned tuna oil

I don't really like tuna that comes in cans very much but if I sometime have to buy it I try to get the one that comes in the salt water.

My granny really buys a lot of it though, she really likes to eat it and also she gives it to her cat. She always buys the one that comes in oil and after she takes the tuna out she pours the oil down the sink.

I'm sure it's not great to pour all of that oil down the sink but what else can you do with canned tuna oil??

Does anyone use it for cooking or anything, or just throw it away too, and what is the best way to get rid of oil like this?

My very unhelpful and very subjective opinion is just to avoid the problem by never buying tinned tuna, but that's because I think it tastes completely disgusting and I wouldn't ever want to put it in my mouth.

If someone actually does like it somehow though then maybe you could just use the oil for cooking in, make a salad dressing, brush it on to some bread and grill it, or something like that. I think it's normally sunflower oil so it's pretty versatile, just in this case it has the massive disadvantage of tasting like tuna.

Waste sorting centers usually have the special containers for oil.

Or maybe just use bread to.eat it or cats can clean it well just needs to be safe can so there is no danger.

That's true, maybe she can just collect it all in a bottle, but I don't think she would do it.

Žaklīna well if you are a crafty person, oil leftover waste can be used to make candles. There are some small businesses that use oil waste from cooking to make candles, collecting it from restaurants and reducing waste. Of course it is a bit of work, but might be quite nice for the garden party!

I do not eat tuna, but I have a friend who uses it to make tuna flavor mayonnaise.

I don't really like animal oils, I buy the vegetarian or vegan type more myself.

I don't think anyone really buys 'animal oils', maybe lard but I think that is not so popular anymore.

What they were walking about here is the oil that you get in a can of tuna, so not tuna oil but vegetable oil that has absorbed the flavor of the tuna while it was in the can.

I just can't do canned tuna, something about the smell of it is really wrong.
