There are some things that I always thought you could not eat, and that I throw into the compost instead.
One of them is banana skins, I don't know why, but I always just thought that you could only eat the inside and that the peel was not ok to eat.
But I just read an article that says that you can eat them and that they are a great source of lots of good things, like fibre and anti-oxidants.
You can use them in smoothies, chutneys, to make banana tea, and apparently you can marinade and fry them to make something a bit like bacon.
Does anybody eat banana skins, and do you have any recipes or tips of what to do with them?
