Natural ways to heal sunburn

One of us spent far too long doing something outside in the sun without protection today and has quite bad sunburn.

I normally use fresh aloe leaves to treat it which works better than any of the after-sun lotions I found in the drugstore, but I don't have any at home right now.

I just read online since people recommending oatmeal or honey. Just wondering if anyone has tried them or had any other natural sunburn treatments to recommend?

Aloe vera as well yogurt.. you can find aloe vero powder and add water. Or just cream. Coconut oil, or Lavender spray/oil.

I told a friend to try this, and he is a smart guy but does not always think about things before doing it. He used forest fruit yogurt because that is what he had, he says it helps but maybe it just placebo.

Raspberry oil & carrot seed oil both are great for sun protection as they have high natural SPF.

I also heard about carrot seed oil for sun protection but I have never tried it yet!

I love it too, we just didn't have any around the other day, so I was looking for an alternative.

We did have honey, but it just seemed like a very messy idea, but I managed to find an old bottle of aftersun lotion in the bathroom cupboard.

I'm still interested in any other more natural solutions if anyone has any 🙂

Actually I read something about this when I was searching, it was about sour cream or yoghurt - natural and unsweetened. People were saying it works quite well, I am skeptical.

It works 🙂 tried a couple of times and it is old fashion way.

But the first thing it would be to avoid it. Well men tend to forget or just ignore the protection point somehow…

As an update.

I burned my neck a bit yesterday and did not have anything to use on it, I tried the yogurt. It felt nice and cooling and stopped it being so painful for a time. Maybe it was super effective at working or maybe it was because it was cold from the fridge, or both? 🤔

Yes! Not cold and not too powerful and blasting your skin, a nice gentle cool shower feels go good!
