Maybe now the problem is that we just don't have 10-15 years to wait, but maybe they start making a difference a long time before there are big visible results?
This place is already next to a forest though, so that seeds can easily come from it. What if it is further away, next to the city, not as much probably.

It's amazing how seeds survive passing through the acidic digestive systems of birds and animals and still be able to grow afterwards.
