Most people want to get away in the summer, to get out and about in the long summer days, swim in warm waters, etc.
But the winter has a lot to offer as well, and you can find some really much cheaper journeys and hotel prices, apart from the weeks around Christmas and New Year (or even then if you are prepared to travel on Christmas Day and New Years Day).
