I've seen some stories about companies with plans, or maybe just ideas, to fix the shortage of rare metals on Earth by mining them from asteroids or the moon.
I'm not sure how it is supposed to work, it seems like it would need huge amounts of power to get up there, collect them and bring them back again, and I'm sure that there are so many things to go wrong that they would fail a lot of the time anyway.
What do you think, is it a better option to use power and try to extend our influence and destruction to space objects as well as just this planet, or is it better to keep on digging more and more holes all over Earth to try and find enough?
It seems clear we are going to need more and more because nobody is going to give up tech devices now, so those seem like the only two options really.
