Ages and ages ago I joined Kialo which is an online public debate forum. I thought it would be interesting but to be honest I never find the time to look at it at all and I have never participated. Anyway, every week or so it sends me an email of "things I might have missed", and one of them this week was a statement that I have turned into the question in the title...
"All humans should be vegan"
There are some interesting points on both sides, along with some pretty stupid ones, but the main ones are:
➕ A vegan society would have environmental advantages
➕ Veganism reduces both human and animal suffering
➖ A global shift to veganism is not feasible
➖ Vegans miss out on enjoyable and culturally important foods and experiences, making veganism a difficult lifestyle to maintain.
➖ Veganism is unhealthy
Clearly the last one is not true, and for me the main issue (by a huge margin) is the environmental one. What do you think. should everyone be eating a vegan diet?
