Do you support any projects?

Hi! Do you regular make some donations to support environmental projects? 🌍 🌿 Or do you prefer once in awhile to make some contributions?

Of course some people are against of any donations and choose different ways to support the environmental projects!

Not at the moment. I don't donate much, to be honest, and when I do, I try to focus on charities that support families in poverty. We had a few social media campaigns recently trying to make sure that kids that can't afford food get lunch at school so that was a good thing to back.

I donate to the WWF every month. I started it a long time ago when I stopped with someone in the street and they asked me to sign the monthly debit and I never cancelled it.

Ilta Is it a case of can't be bothered to cancel it or are you happy with what they do? Just curious because there was a recent thread on Reddit about the people that stop you on the street and a lot of people said they cancelled right away

Ash It's kind of both, I never to think to stop it but as well they do good things.

I used to volunteer a lot for different causes. But now choosing different projects mainly deforestation. As well wondering to choose some monthly thing in connection with education/poverty/environmental.

Actually had an experience to collect money in the streets for AIDS education and support in developing countries. Well it was very very hard! But we all needed to have a special permit to do so and just in designated places as well it was just one day permit, special boxes so no one could take money out, label ect. And it was just cash no monthly subscription.

Honestly I prefer to make donations online or to volunteer where support is needed.

We donate to 350.org, it's an organisation that fights the fossil fuels industry.

Do you know, I actually don't think I know what the WWF does, I know they have a panda logo and everyone knows the name, but I couldn't name a single project or cause of theirs. They are not in the news nearly as much as Greenpeace, for example.

I started it a really long time ago, I think it was from an advert in a print magazine, and I have never cancelled it or changed bank account. I think all of those charities do good things but this is the one that I donate to, because it's the one I ended up with first.

I really like as well projects which offers to offset your carbon footprint, and they invest in different projects like clean energy, clean water in developing countries, ect.

As well you can offset event, travel, or other activity.

Both organisations have some many projects and thry are so wide range that sometimes it is quite a hard task to say what exactly they do.

I have noticed that WWF mostly goes to the field actio - conservation, protection and advocacy for nature problems directory. While Greenpeace trying to convince others to do something about it - they are spreading the world firstly and after going to the field.

WWF running the project in many more countries then Greenpeace and as for now is never one, but Greenpeace advocacy feels stronger and it is very important as well.

Greenpeace's advocacy is much more aggressive, blocking ports, interrupting meetings, campaigns in public spaces, etc.

Annie Brooks I think it is really good. WWF from beginning was based on sciences and Greenpeace on journalism so combination of.these two works well.

I don't always agree with the Greenpeace way of doing things, but mostly I do.

PETA is another organization with the right cause but sometimes the wrong way of doing things.

By the way if you use Brave web browser 🌐 you can join Brave rewords and it is the way to support some projects. For example EKO Diena 😉 you collect some BAT and after you can tip any site which is in the program. You collect BAT by getting some ads notifications, but you don't need to watch any of them.

I use Brave on my phone, it is more private web browser and Ecosia.org 🌲 search engine which plants trees for each search.

I have Brave too, but still use Google, I know there are other options that support charity or clean the ocean or plant trees, but I like the results in Google and I have just never changed it.

I do not. It feels like I should but I do not want to make an agreement to give every month and they all want to pressure you into that.
